Dream #4 - Unstable

In a large green field sat a cubic brick building with only two blacked out windows and a rusty green steel door. Coming closer, the building sat on a foundation of black steel that came down in a V on any side and peaked at the corners. It sat in a dry moat around ten feet deep. Upon approaching the building, it sprung up in the air on a great malleable shaft and wobble from side to side like a bobblehead before settling back into its place.

Inside we passed a row of homeless looking waifs wearing flour sack clothing and newspaper shoes. They were massed with their backs to a lineup of 1970s supercomputers and reel to reel recorders.

An old friend stepped up first while I and another friend stayed back to watch. He walked out into the cavernous room to blue steel stairs without railings to the platform (with a railing) suspended over a gigantic pit. The room started to shake, the stairs and platform began to buck. Within two seconds he fled back down the stairs to the relative safety of the larger floor. The trembling stopped. I took my turn, stepping up to the platform. The shaking began again. My knuckles turned white from gripping the railing. The platform spun and bucked wildly but I held my ground. On the other side of pit steel shutters snapped up to reveal white lab coated watching machines, tickers, recorders, screens. One bespectacled scientist spoke into a microphone.

I forget what he said. I responded "What!? This is all just a psychological test?!"
